The Extended Stay Advisory

We help you turn visitors into residents.

The Extended Stay Advisory helps destinations, economic development organizations, and operators shift from counting visitors to building residents, with the research, standards, and programs to do it.

    • Launching Thailand's first government-endorsed digital nomad district

      Chiang Mai, Thailand, 2026–ongoing

Co-created a designated digital nomad district with the Chiang Mai provincial governor's office and 9+ government agencies, aligning public bodies around one approach to longer-staying remote workers.

    • Activating Kotohira's off-season through a six-month remote worker program

      Kotohira, Japan, 2025

Designed and ran a six-month destination activation that brought 50+ digital nomads from 10+ nationalities to a rural Japanese town during its off and shoulder seasons.

    • Destination Cariboo Chilcotin Coast: building a rural economy around longer-staying residents

      British Columbia, Canada, 2025

    • Designing a wellness and outdoor coliving built around the Azores

São Miguel, Azores, 2023–2026, now run by Outsite

Built and operate Lemon Bros, a coliving space designed around what the island offers: quality of life, outdoor activities, wellness, and local culture such as spearfishing and surfing. We also built a partnership network with local SMEs so guests spend with island businesses.

    • Pioneering Armenia as a new destination for remote workers

      Yerevan, Armenia, 2025

Developed a digital nomad campaign that introduced Armenia, a destination largely unknown to remote workers, as a base for stays of months, not days.

    • Convening APAC's largest CosmoLocal conference and community integration program

      Chiang Mai, Thailand, 2026

Organised the largest CosmoLocal conference in APAC. Also designed and ran CosmoLocalCNX, a local connection program that brings international residents and Chiang Mai communities together so longer stays build local ties rather than parallel bubbles.

    • Piloting pop-up coliving as a pathway from short visits to longer stays

      Kanazawa, Japan, 2025–onwards

Tested pop-up coliving and community programming as a low-capex way to convert short-term visitors into longer local stays before committing to permanent infrastructure.

    • Building coliving and coworking infrastructure for international residents

      Chiang Mai, Thailand, 2020–onwards
