For economic development organizations

Remote workers who stay become residents. We help you build for them.

Remote workers bring their jobs with them. We help economic development corporations, regional agencies, and municipalities turn that interest into residents who work, spend, and put down roots locally, tested in a district we co-created with Chiang Mai's provincial governor's office and 9+ government agencies.

Nomad Friendly District, Chiang Mai

Nomad Friendly District, Chiang Mai · 2026–ongoing

You're measured on residents, not arrivals.

Every city is chasing the same remote workers. The places that win build for them, not just advertise to them.

  • You're measured on jobs, talent attraction, and local spend, not just visitor arrivals
  • Remote workers who could live anywhere are your best bet, and you don't have the playbook
  • You've funded campaigns that brought visitors whose spend never reached local businesses
  • You need a partner who has actually built resident communities, not just theorized about them

From arrivals to residents

From: Visitor arrivals as the headline number
To: New residents, local jobs, and spend that reaches local businesses
From: Campaigns that advertise the place to remote workers
To: Programs that give them a reason and a route to stay: work, housing, community
From: Each agency running its own initiative
To: One approach agreed across agencies, operators, and the tourism board

Three ways to start

Most economic development teams start with the Workshop: one day that puts your agencies, tourism partners, and local operators in the same room, and leaves you with a 90-day plan.

  1. Workshop

For EDOs exploring remote workers as a talent and resident strategy for the first time.

We review your place against what remote residents need to stay: work, housing, community. We interview stakeholders and shortlist source markets, then run a one-day workshop with your agencies, tourism partners, and local operators where we teach the extended-stay model and agree priorities together. You leave with a 90-day activation plan. Also available on its own.

  2. Activation Pilot

For teams with a plan who want proof before committing budget.

We test demand in one source market: positioning, a landing offer built with local operators and landlords, such as a 30-day trial stay, a landing page, community partners, one or two webinars, a lead funnel, and a results report you can take to your board.

90 days · one source market, one segment

  3. Destination Campaign

For places with proven demand, ready to scale resident attraction across markets.

The full campaign across several markets: market intelligence, positioning, recognition, demand generation, and conversion, measured in qualified leads and applications.

    6+ months · several markets

Questions EDOs ask us

We're not a tourism organization. Is this for us?

Yes. Remote workers are a talent and resident play as much as a visitor one. We work with economic development corporations, regional agencies, and municipalities, usually alongside the local tourism board rather than instead of it.

Do we need housing and coworking in place first?

No. The Workshop reviews what you already have against what remote residents need: work, housing, community. The plan starts from there, and the Pilot is built with operators and landlords you already have.

How do you measure success?

We agree the measures in the Workshop. Pilots end with a results report; campaigns are measured in qualified leads and applications, not impressions.

Where have you done this?

In Thailand, Japan, Canada, Armenia, and the Azores, from a government-endorsed nomad district in Chiang Mai to regenerating abandoned houses into long-stay homes in São Miguel.

Let's talk about your property, a city or a destination.
